At First Baptist Church of Progress Village, the Music & Worship Ministry exists to glorify God through heartfelt worship, inspiring music, and a spirit of unity. We lead the congregation in lifting praises to the Lord, creating an atmosphere where hearts are prepared to receive God’s Word.
Our Mission
TO usher in the presence of God by singing united under His Holy Spirit that God may be glorified and the people of God be edified in one body, one spirit, and one mind. We further commit to living and serving as witnesses of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by evangelizing and encouraging one another through His word and song. Ultimately we strive to aid in the winning of souls to Christ through a word or song; more importantly through the life we live.
Why We Sing
The Gospel is the birth, life, death, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Singing gospel music is our musical expression; speaking our personal experience with the Lord. Further, it is our spiritual exhortations to other Christians; and lastly, it is an invitation to the non-Christian to accept Christ as Savior.

WHAT WE DO

Lead Worship Services – Provide music for Sunday services, special programs, and church events.

Choir & Praise Team – Use vocal and instrumental talents to minister through song.

Seasonal Productions – Present special worship experiences during Christmas, Easter, and other significant occasions.
OUR CHOIRS
FBCOPV is blessed with a variety of choirs that serve our congregation across all ages:
The Celebration Choir
The main choir of the church consisting of adult singers ranging from the ages of 18 and beyond. Singing may consist of various styles of music from traditional to contemporary.
The Mass Choir
This Choir consists of representation of every Adult group above including teenagers 13 and above. It is our desire to sing as a Mass Choir at least quarterly, and additionally, on outings as requested by the Pastor.
Praise Team
This group consists of members of the various Choirs and congregation. Their repertoire is mainly Praise and Worship style music, mostly contemporary. traditional and contemporary gospel music.
The Male Chorus
A brotherhood of men lifting strong voices in praise. This group consists of all male singers from 18 and beyond. The repertoire of this group consists of gospel, semi- contemporary gospel, spirituals, and quartet music.
The Women’s Chorus
Voices of faith-filled women encouraging the congregation in worship.
Children's Choir
Young people using their gifts to glorify God and grow in worship. This group consists of ages 6-17. Their repertoire is various styles of music geared for young people. The children will minister every 4th Sunday.

Our youngest worshippers learning to praise God through song. This group consists of ages 2-5. The kids will minister every 4th Sunday.

Each choir provides an opportunity to serve, grow spiritually, and fellowship with others while using musical gifts for the Lord.
OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE
We welcome singers, musicians, and anyone with a passion for worship to join us in serving. Whether you sing, play an instrument, or assist with sound and media, there’s a place for you.
